*Waiting for Wishes*

TUESDAY, APRIL 13, 2010

The 9th Annual Kevin Carter's "Waiting for Wishes" Celebrity Waiter's Dinner benefits the Kevin Carter Foundation and The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Middle Tennessee. The event was held at the Palm Restaurant in Nashville and hosted by former Tennessee Titan Kevin Carter and co-hosted by Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts. The celebrity dinner was an exclusive and VIP evening where Carter, NFL players, other professional athletes, and various celebrities became the restaurants servers!
RASCAL FLATTS
During the day, I stuffed gift bags for every celebrity coming to the event. There were over 350 gift bags that needed to be filled with goodies, but I was able to accomplish it in under 2 hours! After loading all of the giftsbags into a truck and transporting them to the Palm Restaurant, it was time to get ready for the evenings event! At the beginning of the night I signed each celebrity in and gave them their servers jacket. It was unbelievable meeting such a variety of celebrities!
Chris Young winner of 'Nashville Star'

Olympic Gold Medalist Scott Hamilton and NHL Predators

NFL Bucs and Bears Players

UFC Fighter Ricco Rodriguez

Throughout the night, I helped with the silent auction which consisted of signed guitars by Miley Cyrus, Dolly Parton, and Darius Rucker, a jacket signed by the Rascal Flatts, other celebrity autographed items, vacations, and gift baskets. I was also asked to participate in the live auction by modeling a signed guitar by Slash!! I was very nervous holding it and made sure I showed it off to the best of my ability!

The evening was full of memories I will cherish forever! Everyone was so kind-hearted and so thrilled to be sharing in the cause. I commend each of them for donating their time and energy to the event and hope to be a part of it for years to come!

*Freedom Riders 7th Annual Poker Run*

SATURDAY, APRIL 17, 2010

The 3rd annual Poker Run in Chattanooga was a HUGE success! It was also one of the most enjoyable events I have had the privilige of participating in! It started off at Thunder Creek Harley Davidson with a band and auction ticket sales. Participants purchased their poker cards there and signed up for the Poker Run.

While walking around selling auction tickets, the band dedicated a song to me and then proceeded to invite me onstage!! I performed 'White Liar', 'I Want You to Want Me', and 'I'm Your's' with them!

The Poker Run ended at Charlie's in Soddy Daisy. There I helped collect poker cards, sold more auction tickets, and posed for photo opportunities! : )

This event has raised over $28,000 just in the past two years and I can not wait to see how much we raised this year!

*Waltz For Wishes*

SATURDAY, APRIL 10th, 2010
'Waltz for Wishes' is an annual fundraiser for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of East Tennessee. It is the foundations largest fundraiser throughout the year, and over the past 5 years has raised over $750,000! As Miss Chattanooga, I sold raffle tickets for auction items and was announced at the events final auction at the Knoxville's Downtown Marriott.

The group of raffle ticket sellers were divided into teams of two. We each had a competition as to which group could sell the most raffle tickets. And I am proud to say, my partner Stephen Kidwell and I won the raffle ticket sells by a long shot!! We rocked it!!

After boasting for just a minute or two about our success, Stephen and I congratulated everyone else on their efforts. I had such a blast and made some dear friends!

Mixology in Nashville

Last night was so much fun!! The Hutton Hotel in downtown Nashville hosted an event called Mixology to raise money for different Middle Tennessee Non-Profit Organizations. Local restaurants set up booths around the stunning venue while guests enjoyed samples of cuisine, art, and fashion. I had the honor of assisting the models in the runway show with hair and make-up and the models just happened to be the Titan's Cheerleaders!! They were so kind and funny and I felt like I had known them for years! The fashions they were modeling were from the Flavour Boutique. I loved every outfit and I had to sustain myself from purchasing anything!

After completing their hair and make-up, I stayed backstage and helped with the outfit changes and any touch ups the girls needed. I did get to escape for a short time to check out the event! It was gorgeous and looked to be a great success! It was neat to see the wide variety of people that came out for the philanthropic purpose!

I was so thrilled to be a part of the event and I hope that next year I can volunteer my time and talent again! Also, I hope to be helping the Titan's Cheerleaders with any other appearances they will be making ; )

The Beginning To My March Madness

WOW! I can not believe that it is already the second week of March! Let me fill you in on all that's been happening thus far:

While preparing for workshop and getting all of my paperwork together, I got to make a trip to Chattanooga on March 6th and 7th. My directors, Rodney and Bobbie, and I spent time doing my hair and shopping for the upcoming week! We reviewed paperwork and talent information and got a lot accomplished! Saturday evening, Lacey Alford, Miss Metropolitan, and I performed for a Chattanooga Cares fundraising event! It was a blast to spend time together and perform for the benefit! Chattanooga Cares is also hosting the 15th Annual Strides of March AIDS Walk on Sunday, March 28th and I'm really looking forward to participating and hopefully recruiting some friends as well! (Hint, Hint, if anyone is interested :)

This past week was full of paperwork perfecting and workshop preparation. After work on Friday night, Kaley Schwab, Miss Scenic City, and I were fortunate to make the drive to Jackson together and I am so thankful for her company! Workshop was AMAZING! It was great to meet the other contestants, make new friends, and visit with those I haven't seen in awhile! After lunch, we played the Lottery to determine our contestant numbers! I was pulled third! I was thrilled to be able to choose the placement I was hoping for and I am proud to be in Group A as your contestant #10!

After workshop, was the TOT Pageants! WHAT AN INCREDIBLE NIGHT OF TALENTS! Each contestant was so impressive and the talent's in the Outstanding Teen Competition were phenomenal! There was singing, dancing, piano, and twirling! If that wasn't enough to be blown away, there wasn't one evening gown I didn't love! They really worked hard and deserve so much praise and congratulations! But even more congratulations to our new Teen Queens:

**Miss Tennessee Teen Princess: Channing Simmons**

**Miss Tennessee Outstanding Teen: Maggie Belew**

They both performed beautifully and I can't wait to watch Maggie Belew twirl at America's Outstanding Teen Pageant! She will make Tennessee so proud! And Channing Simmons is the perfect successor to sweet Savannah Ivey! I can't wait to watch both of their accomplishments throughout the year!

Thank you to Emily Anne, Ellen, Ms. Tammy, Lacey, Kaley, Rodney and Bobbie for such a memorable weekend! It was a perfect end to the week and I can't wait to all be back together again!!
